New Blog

I recently found the website build tool Astro and loved the speed and simplicity so much that I knew I had to move my blog over to it.

I’ve been using a Tumblr blog with a custom domain name for quite a while, along with a custom coded site written using SvelteKit. While this was perfectly fine, I thought it would be better to combine the two into a single site, and at the same time provide myself with full control over the blog to prevent any possibility of losing it due to reliance on a third party. In addition with this revision to my site I decided it may be nice to create a more minimalist theme which will look good on any device, rather than trying to create a more complex theme and setup which, while looking good, may not translate well to every screen necessarily.

Overall I love the new flow for creating blog pages, the simplicity of the look, and especially the ease of hosting, as it builds into a fully static site which I can host very easily with nginx.
